Little Preschoolers Ltd

Your home away from home

We provide learning opportunities for all children, creating a fun, enjoyable, and caring environment where children can feel safe in their freedom and choice of play.  We aim to encourage children’s emerging interests and develop experiences through exploration, enquiry and discovery.

About Us

Learn & Explore

Our family-owned and operated centre was established in 2014 by sisters - Anne-Marie, Donna-Lee and Rene. We all have backgrounds in early childhood education and administration.

We are a very community-focused family and this centre has been our way of giving back. We aim to provide a home away from home where you and your child/ren become part of our family/whanau.

“Take care of our children. Take care of what they hear, take care of what they see, take care of what they feel. For how the children grow, so will be the shape of Aotearoa.”

Dame Whina Cooper

As a mixed-aged centre from birth to five years old, children learn to form meaningful bonds with one another, participate and contribute in more advanced activities and learning experiences.

Programs and Curriculum

Learning Through Play

Our Centre provides a child-centred programme that is based on the New Zealand Ministry of Education’s national early childhood curriculum – Te Whāriki.

Free Play & Exploration

We enhance each child’s development through activities and programs that are based on regular observations and evaluations. Each child will be guided to develop at an individual pace according to his or her unique personalities. Our practices reflect the bi-cultural heritage of our community.

Music & Movement

We offer music and movement sessions for all ages to enhance creative science and body movement. Children learn to move their body through reflection, props and in time to the music. It is a creative way to further children's imagination and artistic side. Children are able to see their movement through their own eyes.

Te Whāriki

Our teaching practice is guided by Te Whāriki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum. Our teaching is inspired by Vygotsky, Mason Dury and Rose Pere. Te Whāriki is founded on the following aspiration for children;

To grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.

Our Values

Quality Child Care

We believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.

Testimonials

Rebecca Neha

Can't tell you how incredibly relieved i am to have such wonderful family like teachers looking after my little girl. Only two weeks in and her vocab has increased. Definitely a home a way from home. 5 stars doesn't even cut it. Thank you ladies for the wonderful and safe environment you have established for all the lucky children in your care. And for making this emotional mum worry free.
