Whakawhitinga ki te Kura | Transition to School
Improving school beginnings together, we bridge the gap for lifelong learning success.
Tā Mātou Whāinga | Our Vision
At Little Preschoolers, we believe every child deserves a confident, joyful start to school. Our Bridging the Gap approach ensures a smooth transition from early learning to primary education, helping tamariki feel secure, capable, and ready to thrive.

Building Strong Foundations for Tamariki
Te Pānui me te Tuhituhi | Early literacy
Through storytelling, play-based learning, and sound recognition activities, children develop early reading and writing skills. Story stones, sound packs and name recognition games make learning fun and meaningful.
Te Pāngarau | Early numeracy
Hands-on play helps children explore numbers, patterns, and problem-solving. Activities like counting games and playdough tracing naturally build number sense.
Te Whanaketanga Tinana | Physical development
Everyday routines, painting, sitting for kai, and outdoor play strengthen fine motor skills, posture and coordination, preparing children for classroom routines.

Tā Mātou Tikanga | Our Approach
Ngā Hononga Ako | Smooth Transitions
We work closely with Deanwell School, Bridging the Gap Ltd, whānau and kaiako to align our teaching with both Te Whāriki and the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. This partnership supports continuity in learning and strengthens each child's sense of belonging.
Mahi Tahi | Working together
We believe transitions are most successful when kaiako, whānau and tamariki work in unity. Together, we create a seamless pathway from early childhood to school, ensuring every child feels confident and ready to learn.
